01 — The Assignment

Where electrical safety, field service and business operations meet.

From 2020 to 2021, I served as Director of Safety at Essential Electrical Services, LLC, a Magnolia-based electrical contractor operating across Greater Houston. The role extended across residential electrical service, backup generator installation and energization, field safety, scheduling, dispatch, project planning and customer-facing operations.

The company also performed commercial and municipal electrical services. My involvement bridged jobsite execution and the systems behind it: safety-program development, procurement, supplier relationships, field coordination, sales, digital service-platform visibility and implementation of field-service management software.

Following Winter Storm Uri in 2021, emergency power restoration and backup-generator work made electrical resilience a particularly meaningful part of the assignment. This chapter presents an operational contribution across many service calls and facilities, not a claim to have designed or independently installed every system shown.

The measure of service.
Is what keeps working.

From one electrical service call to a distributed field operation, reliability depends on good work, sound controls and the people coordinating both.
